Storytelling, whether for the small screen, feature length films or shorts means training yourself in a unique form of visual thinking.

After 25 years as a director of television fiction and more than 10 years teaching film making, I have written a book, Storytelling for Directors: From Script to Screen, setting out a rigorous and systematic approach to visual storytelling for directors.

Mastering the craft is the essential first step to being a director. Going beyond craft involves rigorous and disciplined thinking about the visual and dramatic possibilities of the story. My aim in Storytelling for Directors: From Script to Screen and in my workshops and one to one sessions is to help you be the best storyteller you can be.
